RankStreet SEO Audit ("the extension") is a Chrome extension built by Digistreet Media, the company behind RankStreet. This page explains what data the extension accesses, what it sends off your device, and what it never does.
The extension analyzes the web page you are currently viewing and shows you an SEO/technical/design scorecard with a prioritized list of fixes. It only runs when you open the extension's popup on a tab — it does not run automatically in the background, and it does not monitor your browsing across other tabs or over time.
Most of the audit — Content, Technical, Mobile, and Design/Accessibility scoring — is computed entirely inside your browser by reading the current page's HTML, headings, meta tags, images, links, and structured data. None of this is sent anywhere. It exists only in the extension's popup while it's open.
To score Performance (Google PageSpeed / Core Web Vitals) and Domain Authority — which require external services Google PageSpeed Insights and Open PageRank don't support from inside a browser — the extension sends only the URL of the page you're auditing to RankStreet's server (rankstreet.in), which looks up those two scores and returns them. No page content, no personal information, no browsing history, and no data from any other tab is sent.
RankStreet's server may keep standard web-server access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL) for security and rate-limiting, the same as any website. This data is not linked to a user account — using the extension does not require signing in or creating a RankStreet account.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will also be reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
